Apply for Medicare, the income may be taxed like SS retirement so if you are married you may pay tax if the spouse earns more than around 32K

Social Security Disability is taxed the same as Social Security retirement benefits. If you are not married and your other income is $25,000 or more, some of your benefits are taxed. If you are married, the income threshold is $32,000 on your joint return before some of your benefits are taxed.
As to the medicare benefits available to you, contact the SSA for your eligibility.

Congratulations – I think its a win-win situation for you. You have 9 months trial work period. If you want to test yourself if you can go back to work. You have to report that you are working at least six months into the trial work period so that they can advise you what your next option. Medicare eligibility will not be until 24 months from the first month you were eligible for first payment after your 5 month mandatory waiting period. Half of your disability earnings is taxable.
