You only get $$ in small claims court if you win your case. Being on SSD does not make you immune from a judgment against you in small claims court. Getting money from that person may be difficult, however, as there may not be wages to garnish. But if they have a bank acc’t or own property, you probably can get a lien on it.
Assuming you win your judgment all that you can really do
is to attach a lien to any personal property (house), depending
on the state that you live in you may be able to levy their
checking account, but if the only thing that goes into that
account is his SSI payment, most states will not allow you
to take that money.

Ask the judge, IF you win.
