You receive another disability benefit or a lump-sum settlement; or
Your benefits change or stop. ”
Living in KS is irrelevant to this–same law will apply throughout the US. You may want to contact your Social Security disability lawyer (most people used one to get benefits as they deny more than half of all claims at least the first go-round). He should be able to advise you.

I don’t think they take it per SE’ but probably suspend SSI payments for the amount of the Workman’s comp award
